For some reason, the Great Wall of China seems to bring out the inner child in many of its visitors. Perhaps because the Wall itself is such a wonder, an enigma and an obscene feat of megalomaniac architecture. Who knows, but these photos made me laugh. Call it art interaction, call it making history. But whatever. Enjoy.

Hey Jay,

Thanks for your comment. Yeah maybe he thought that, we did specifically state where we wanted to go, at least 3 times and it was confirmed we would go there and not Badaling, I can't remember the name of that place though.

Then the taxi driver took us to Badaling but swore blind it was the other place. He wasn't happy about taking us there, but he was paid extra so he seemed to get over it pretty quickly. Badaling absolutely could not compare with the second area, in vast/impressiveness so my whole opinion of the great wall would have changed if I'd only gone there, so I'm glad we kicked up a fuss and went to where we asked to go in the first place.

The whole thing near Beijing is reconstructed. Badaling and Mulanshu are both real but only reconstructed for a few miles. The taxi driver must have thought you were a bit unreasonable.
