So what happened to the zig?

// April 5th, 2009 // Internet Marketing

You may have noticed quite a few things have changes around here. I’ve been having a rethink of my whole online strategy, moving to a ‘less is more’ ideology. Up until a few weeks ago I had maybe 10 sites, 9 of which I didn’t like and only sporadically updated. The only two sites I really still believed in were thezig and tee-junction and so

Tee-Junction

Just got the biggest overhaul of its life and my biggest personal web project to date. The brilliant team over at Bonsai Studios drew me up a beautiful new theme and newsletter template. I think it looks the mutts nuts now. I’ve also sorted out three new writers for it and traffic is steadily climbing. This is the site I’ll attempting to monetize and live off of over the next six months.

In order to do that I’ve had a new area custom built by the Bonsai boys – Teedirectory.

This will be a fun little community area where you can rate stores, view shirts and share deals. If you know me well you’ll know I’m a big Virtual Community enthusiast, now I’ll have a little one of my own to run again which should be fun. Again with tee-junc this will get the bulk of my time over the next months.

The Zig

Complete rethink in strategy for this one. I had my old blog HipHipUK which was the first every blog I started way back in ‘06. I was totally bored of it, so it will be closed and replaced by the Zig as my main online home. I always enjoyed writing here and unlike HipHipUK thezig has a little soul. I kept it quiet because some of the stuff I write here can be a little out there, but now I’m self-employed (well if all goes well, on a six month sabattical if not) I don’t have to care too much what I write.

So thezig will no longer be a secret little hideaway for me to scribble during idle moments. Now its open to one and all, I’ll be promoting it as only an Internet Marketer should. A byproduct of its new status should be that it gets many more updates than it used to.

There’s still a lot to do like reclassifying all the posts, adding my presentations and papers, commenting via facebook, travel map, cv etc etc. But I’ll get there, slowly.

What you will see is the homepage of this site sucks in a lot of other content, I’m twittering quite a lot these days, so even if I’m not posting they’ll be something new to view or read here.

This affiliate site (shared with my old mucker Pete) always had big potential and will be my next development project. I’ll probably approach the Bonsai boys again, once Teedirectory is up and running I’ll have a better idea what to do with this, for now it ticks over okay without too much intervention.

Thanks for reading, now I best get back to work…

It's always nice if you comment, it makes me feel loved. Spammy comments with SEO keyword names will not be approved though, they make me feel dirty. Thanks!
