Blogging

// March 26th, 2007 // Theories

In my humble opinion the key to being a good blogger is
a) believing the things you say very passionate for
b) just the second you are saying/writing them.

(continues in full post)

That way you are burdened with the, well, burden of consistency. Blogger’s aren’t quite affected by this particular straight jacket. You can really passionately believe the world is flat, your sure you heard once about a friend who fell off, scientists have proved it beyond all certainty but you cant quite remember the link or where you read it.

This comes up sometimes when people mention things that i’ve written, then look quizzical when I have absolutely no memory of ever writing it and clearly don’t believe it. At best the things they claim i’ve said are – totally in-plausible, at worse they sound moronic. This doesn’t bother me in the slightest and actually only eggs me on to produce something even more half-baked and idiotic. If you write something, think about it, do some research, scratch your head, re-read it, re-write it, ask jeeves then wikipedia, get a coffee all the good stuff and original enthusiasm for the topic gets lost. At least for me anyway.

Of course I’m not suggesting that that theory of relativity should of been bashed out in one 15min spurt, but we’re talking about blogging here not science, or are we talking about the science of blogging? Either way one is for intellectuals, the other is for bored people at work.

The bloggers mantra should be

“It’s more important to be entertaining than right”.

Please don’t talk to me about this post, as as soon as I hit the final, final full stop I wont remember a word.

What were we talking about again? Circus Midgets?

It's always nice if you comment, it makes me feel loved. Spammy comments with SEO keyword names will not be approved though, they make me feel dirty. Thanks!

    Friend of mine used to say: never let the truth get in the way of a good story.

    Also, from your fav series Star Trek: NG: truth is just a poor excuse for a lack of imagination (I think it was Q that said this, but you wouldn't really care, now would you?).
