Hey Carl,

Thanks for your comment, well we were backpacking more than hiking, I'd assume hikers have maps, sensible clothing and a love of the great outdoors. We had only youthful naivety. Nah I didn't notice any discrimination from Chinese people soldiers or non, westerns were largley left alone unless someone wanted to sell us something.

Wish I can travel and hike sometime in China. Hopefully some day.
Dont you think Chinese soldiers are very suspicious to hikers? Did you experience any discrimination while hiking?
