About
Thanks for stopping by the Zig, which is where I collect up all the more interesting fragments of my on and offline life for your reading pleasure.
How did the zig come about?
This blog started way back in 2006 when the world was young. Global Warming was nothing but a radiator manufacturers convention and the only Credit Crisis was when your pay as you go phone ran out of money to send texts to your mates which said things like “lol. I’m home now, bitchin night, laters”. It was during this simpler time I started a blog about Crowdsourcing and t-shirts, two disparate subjects skillfully combined by Threadless who’d I’d pent six months studying while writing my dissertation on reducing the risk of new product innovation using Virtual Communities. That lead to a job offer from the great, talented people at Spreadshirt who offered me the chance to move to Leipzig, Germany to be their Industry Ambassador.
Not knowing anything about Germany, any German, or any Germans I was a little out of depth when I moved to Leipzig - like a brick in a bathtub I sunk quickly to the bottom where I would have drowned without youthful enthusiasm and meeting many nice people. I started this blog to share the fun little adventures I had in Germany.
Now it’s more than that, moving to Leipzig turned out to be a leap down a rabbit hole that I’m still yet to reach the bottom of. I’ve built more blogs, created work and personal projects I’m really proud of, become an accidental Internet Marketer, travelled around 20 or so countries in three years - talking, writing and meeting interesting people. I’ve just returned from six months travelling in Asia, and one year working again as an Internet Marketer in Auckland, New Zealand for Sprite Software.
The zig continues to be where I share those little adventures.
What will you find here?
1. My work portfolio - my CV: Adam Fletcher CV and projects: Past Projects Page
2. Travel updates - all the travel posts are collected here: Travel Post Archive. A map of my travels is here: Travel Map.
3. Blog posts - as an aspiring writer here I share posts about whatever I’m thinking or doing that feels like it needs to be shared, its therapy for me, even though I don’t know why.
4. Content from my other sites - while I don’t update this site everyday I am busy like a particularly productive little beaver elsewhere usually on Tee-Junction, Tee-Directory or Twitter.
There’s no quality control here so you might have to duck from time to time to avoid the shit that flies.
