10days of no zig posts? We’re slipping back to the month long post droughts of old. If its a little quiet around here lately, its because of my new project, known affectionately as “bastard child” Open Logo Project. Its my first chance to run a design contest, the thing i’ve studied for a long time now and wrote my dissertation on, but there are plenty of restrictions making it a nice but very challenging, challenge.

I’m brave, let me read it

I have a new game, its called “USD” standing for “Urban Shitty Dictionary”. Urban Dictionary is this site where you can look up the definition of words existing outside of traditional dictionaries, urban brother. It will return a completely made up insult like “a fishes asshole, left in the sun, for 7 hours, on Tuesdays. If its another day of the week its know as “slanktrunk”".

Annett uses it look up every word I ever call her (that hasn’t made it into the German/English translators dictionary), and it returns some horrible insult which gets me “pah’d” (the Annett form of you just insulted me by calling me a “prostitutes toenail”). To highlight the stupidity of the site I asked her to give me a letter, she picked x, I randomly made up a word beginning with x, “xling” which apparently is:

“a scene kid who uses x’s for most of their words when they type.”

Not a bad start, hardly derogatory. So we played again “q”, which when added to my imagination produced “quank”

or “A simple definition- quick wank.”

If you want to play ask a person near you to give you a letter, think of a word you’ve never heard of and look it up on urban dictionary. If theres no-one sitting next to you, you smell. If you have success leave the word and description in the comments.

Greeting from me and my balcony. I’m sitting wrapped in a duvet, writing this by candle light at 2am. Either its nice, or I should re-assess my priorities and go get some sleep, up to you, I say Potato’s you say Tomato’s. I have two piece’s of news, the first probably only of interest to those with an abundance of spare time:

1. Fletchycorp has become a blog aggregator. Now everytime I post on any of my blogs it will be syndicated there, so if you want to keep up with my online life you only have to go to one place, the Fletchycorp blog.

2. I have a new site. I always loved writing the zig because it can get a bit weirder than I can do on the work blogs, or on those with a supposed topic like HipHipUK. So I’m going to continue trying to write comedy, only on my new satire site rad-ish. A few others agreed to write to, whether any of us can actually write satire is still to be seen. So far we have 3 english native speakers, and two german so it should have a nice international flavour. Anyway check it out, my posts from there will also appear on Fletchycorp.
